Right now, our democracy is under threat—and working families in Colorado are paying the price. The headlines might focus on the chaos in Washington, but on the ground in Colorado, I know the impacts are real. Tariffs are driving up prices on everything from gas to groceries. I’ve run small businesses and can say from experience: these tariffs will devastate them. Farmers and manufacturers are being caught in the middle of a political game—one that rewards the wealthy, strains our relationships with allies, and leaves everyday Coloradans paying the price. Let’s be clear: tariffs are just another tax on working Americans. And too many in Washington are willing to weaponize them for political gain—no matter the cost to our economy or our communities. We’ve seen this story before. Politicians who stir division, undermine our democratic institutions, and pursue short-term wins that leave long-term damage. And those same folks are watching Colorado closely. National Republicans know control of the Senate is key to keep running their agenda and they’ll spend whatever it takes to keep it.
