The next decade is going to be a great time to be in the skilled trades.
The next decade is going to be a great time to be in the skilled trades.
This was Mark Carney’s message to Canadians today when he announced our Liberal plan to cover the full cost of apprenticeships and to create more training opportunities in the skilled trades, so more Canadian workers can secure higher-paying jobs and build up Canada.
By providing an Apprenticeship Grant of up to $8,000 for registered apprentices, Mark Carney and our Liberal team will remove a key financial barrier for skills training.
Our Liberal team will also:
Double funding to increase access to union-led training
Establish a new capital funding stream for colleges to build new training spaces
Renew the Apprenticeship Service program to financially support employers hiring new apprentices.
Ensure workers who travel more than 120 km to a job site can deduct more of their expenses.
Build one Canadian economy so that more skilled workers can work anywhere in Canada.
Pierre Poilievre is the wrong choice at the wrong time. Either we choose to build a stronger, more united Canada with our Liberal plan, or let Pierre Poilievre and his Conservatives follow Donald Trump’s playbook and make divisive cuts.
We need your support now more than ever to make sure our teams have the necessary tools to win this election.
Chip in now to meet the moment and build a stronger Canada with Mark Carney:
