The Equifax data breach back in 2017 affected more than 140 million people, including 3 million Tennesseans, and they're just now getting around to making amends. And just last month, a hacker stole the information of nearly 106 million Capital One customers.

As our technology advances, our data becomes more vulnerable to cyber attacks like these. And the attacks will only continue unless Congress does something about it.

But in the face of corporations' unethical practices, many of our representatives in Washington have chosen inaction to stay in the good graces of their corporate and special-interest donors. I'm done with that kind of bought-and-sold leadership. That's why I'm not taking money from corporate PACs, because at the end of the day, I'm in this race to fight for Tennesseans and not mega-rich donors.
