We just returned from Panama, where we visited the people dropped there in a US expulsion operation. They are all people from Asia and Africa who cannot return to their home country and cannot stay in Panama, because Panama will not allow them to work. Families, women, children, single adults: and they say none committed any crime in the US except to try to get asylum. We also visited another group expelled to Costa Rica, now detained in an old pencil factory warehouse, where they cannot leave. This group includes small children. We also visited a place where returnees who came back on foot or by other means, can take a boat to Colombia for $250 per person. A group of families from Venezuela is stranded there because they don't have the money, and they can't go back to Venezuela. Join us for our webinar on Tuesday to hear about this situation first hand.
