John,
Early Saturday morning, Senate Republicans voted to pass a budget resolution that paves the way for massive cuts to critical services relied upon by working families, just to pay for more tax cuts for billionaires and large, profitable corporations.
This Republican budget does nothing to rein in government waste as the White House and congressional Republicans claim. Its goal is very simple: cut services for vulnerable people to pay for tax breaks for billionaires.
At a time of continually rising prices―which will only be exacerbated by Trump’s trade war―the idea that Congress would take health care and nutrition benefits away from families shows that they’re siding with the billionaires over our communities.
Now, the fight moves to the House where Republicans have an incredibly narrow voting margin.
Your voices are making a difference—we’ve seen that some swing-district Republicans are worried about how cuts to Medicaid and SNAP will impact their constituents. One in five Americans receive their health care coverage through Medicaid including 40% of all children and 60% of all seniors in assisted living facilities.1 If Congress cuts hundreds of billions from Medicaid, tens of millions of people could lose their health care coverage. If Congress cuts $230 billion from SNAP and more from child nutrition programs, tens of millions of people will have less to eat.
We are keeping the pressure on Congress to reject devastating cuts to critical services that are meant to pay for even more tax breaks to billionaires.

Your support and activism are critical as Elon Musk, Donald Trump, and congressional Republicans seek to dismantle protections for vulnerable communities and build a government of, by, and for the billionaires.
Thank you,
