Fellow Conservative,

Next week, the House of Representatives will seek to pass H.R. 22, the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, to require proof of citizenship for anyone registering to vote.

The American people delivered a resounding mandate for change in November, and it’s high-time that Republicans go on offense.

SAVE Act Myths vs. Facts

After a delay this week, the House is expected to pass the SAVE Act next week. After house passage, it will need to pass the Senate, which will require 60 votes in order to break the filibuster.

This SAVE Act passed the House last year with bipartisan support before ultimately being killed by Chuck Schumer and the Democrat-controlled Senate — needless to say, it’s imperative that we prevent the Left from doing so again.

While the Trump administration has already begun implementing parts of the SAVE Act via executive order, a future Democrat president could easily undo any and all of the progress towards election integrity that is made. That’s why it’s important that we encourage Congress to make conservative reforms permanent.

The Left will fight back with a bevy of myths about the SAVE Act to discourage support. Myths like “Married women who change their name won’t be able to register to vote.” Or, “the Save Act would overwhelm state and local election offices.”

We have documented numerous myths and responded with expert rebuttal.

Anti-CBDC

This past week, H.R. 1919, the Anti-CBDC Surveillance State Act, passed through the House Financial Services Committee, and Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) introduced companion text in the Senate.

Heritage Action Key Voted this legislation last Congress and is excited to see it passing several legislative hurdles so quickly.

Specifically, it prohibits a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) from being issued by the government or Federal Reserve — a crucial step in preserving individual rights from 21st century tyranny.

Although implementing policies that bring our financial system up to date technologically might sound promising, a CBDC would be programmable, traceable, trackable by the government, and allow for unprecedented control over our lives.

Under the Biden administration, countless Americans were punished for thinking, speaking, and voting the ‘wrong’ way. As financial censorship like “debanking” becomes more common, the last thing we need is a government that can spy on every purchase we make. Concerningly, communist China has used its CBDC as a critical component of their state-wide social credit score system.

Thorough anti-CBDC legislation is necessary to safeguard Americans' financial privacy in the face of potential surveillance, control, and political intimidation.

Education Freedom Spreading in the States

Education choice is becoming more and more common across the country. So far in 2025, three states (Idaho, Tennessee, and Wyoming) have already all enacted legislation empowering their citizens with access to educational freedom — a number that may soon double with the prospective additions of Texas, New Hampshire, and North Dakota.

Currently, 14 states have made education freedom universal. See how your state ranks in The Heritage Foundation’s Education Freedom Report Card.

In Case You Missed It

ESG (environmental, social, and governance based investing) policies have become a key political tool used by the Left to impose its marxist ideology on the American people. Simply put, states should not be forcing businesses to bend the knee to progressive political priorities.

That’s why Oklahoma passed the Energy Discrimination Elimination Act in 2022, protecting taxpayer dollars and the state’s investments from arbitrary ESG standards.

Previously, the state of Oklahoma could enter into contracts with companies that boycotted or penalized energy firms — not for breaking laws, but for failing to commit to Green New Deal goals. Yet, SB 714’s ESG provisions would jeopardize the progress previously made.

Thankfully, Heritage Action is pleased to report that the Oklahoma Senate recognized the dangers of SB 714’s and stopped it in its tracks. You can read more about this win for taxpayers >>>HERE<<<.

We have already seen many conservative wins this year and we look forward to achieving more with you. Thank you for all that you do to advance the success of the conservative movement.
