I'm delighted to invite you to our next insight event, where we'll hear from Helen Maguire, Member of Parliament for Epsom and Ewell and the Lib Dem Parliamentary spokesperson for Defence .
Helen will discuss key Defence challenges facing our country and will address the following questions: What is the future of our Defence? To what extent is our country autonomous when we are so dependent on US military supply and technology? Does NATO have a future and if not, what is the future of defence in Europe? How far should we go in contributing to a new European military alliance? Is the government too soft on Trump? Is the UK doing enough for Ukraine?
Before becoming MP for Epsom and Ewell, Helen served as a Captain in the Royal Military Police, serving in Bosnia on a NATO multinational peacekeeping mission and in Iraq. She is a nationally recognised award-winning fundraiser, having secured over £1 million for UK charities since leaving the British Army.
