Trump just launched tariffs on over 60 countries. That includes an additional 34% tariff on goods from China (on top of an earlier 20% tariff), a 20% tariff on the EU, 24% on Japan, and 25% on South Korea.
The HUGE lie that Trump WANTS you to believe is that this is somehow going to “bring down the cost of living” for folks.
So what does this actually mean for Black working families, communities, and Black-owned businesses across the country?
Costs are going to go up. And Black folks are going to bear the brunt of what economists estimate will be thousands of dollars in increased costs for the average family.
This move puts us at risk of reigniting inflation, a trade and tariff war, and could even cause another recession.
Mind you, the rising costs of goods—whether that’s groceries, clothing, or other essentials—is already causing folks to struggle. And with these new tariffs? Things are only going to get worse.
This is not the move of a president who cares about his people and improving their lives.
These are the actions of a egotistical tyrant who does not know a d*mn thing about economics.
We demand that Congress steps up to do their job. Add your name and tell Congress: protect everyday working people and block these tariffs.
