Town hall with Rep. Martinez Fischer and Mayor Nirenberg
Last Saturday, I joined Rep. Martinez Fischer and Mayor Nirenberg in San Antonio to hear from you and give updates on what is happening in Congress. It is important to me that I get face time with my constituents and hear directly from you about your experiences and how we can help. Thank you to the many folks who turned out and engaged with us! We are so much stronger when we work together.
Washington, D.C. Events and Hearings
Last week, I questioned Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, CIA Director Ratcliffe, and FBI Director Kash Patel on Signal gate. They could not give me a direct answer, and I called them out on their dishonesty. Our national security is critical, and we need our most important national security professionals to take it seriously.

In the Media
I joined some interviews in the last couple of weeks to discuss Signalgate and the impact of the Administration's reckless tariffs and their impact on both Texas and San Antonio.

Legislative Updates
Protecting the National Park Service
I led a letter with Congressman Greg Casar (TX-35) and Henry Cuellar (TX-28) to protect San Antonio’s historic missions. In our letter sent to Acting Administrator Stephen Ehikian, I highlighted the historical, cultural, and economic significance of the Missions, demanding that the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) reverse its decision to end the lease for the San Antonio National Park Service headquarters. I know how much the missions mean to our community, so I will not back down.

Protecting Veteran Jobs and Military Spouses from the Administration’s Mass Firings
I led more than 40 House Democrats demanding that the Trump Administration stop and reverse the mass firings of veterans and military spouses from federal agencies. Donald Trump recklessly cut over 80,000 jobs from the Department of Veterans Affairs with no recourse. I am demanding that the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) outline what steps they will take to make things right. I know how much our veterans do for our country, and they deserve better.
