Washington, D.C.– On Monday, I had the opportunity to meet with Romanian Ambassador, Andrei Muraru, to talk about the strong relationship between our two nations.

Tuesday, I met with my colleagues for a Small Business hearing on the impact of burdensome regulations on American small businesses. This is why I introduced the Small Business Regulatory Reduction Act to help small businesses cut through red tape and maximize their revenue. You can watch my remarks here, or by clicking on the image below.

Then, I had the chance to meet with TX-24 restaurant owners to talk about their experience with operating businesses and creating jobs for an average of 50 people at each location. We had a great discussion on extending the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

Great to meet with Yoonie Juong, Samsung North American President and CEO. We were able to discuss their North Texas logistics facility in Coppell!

Awesome to meet with some Texans with the National Association of Development Companies. We were able to discuss the Small Business Administration Made in America Manufacturing Initiative.

I had the pleasure of hosting Southwest Airlines executives from North Texas on a tour of the Capitol. We had a wonderful time touring the building after hours, and talking about the work we are doing this Congress.

Later in the week, I was able to attend the portrait unveiling of my mentor and former boss, Dr. Ben Carson. During his time as HUD Secretary, I had the privilege of serving as Regional Administrator for HUD’s Southwest Region. Glad we could celebrate his lasting impact and achievements this week!

We welcomed 360 North Texans to Washington, D.C.! At our Welcome Reception, I was able to greet all of the families that came out! I chatted with many of the kids who shared what they were most looking forward to on their trip. Read more in my Work of the Week below!
