Team — The gun violence epidemic is the leading cause of death for American kids. Instead of addressing this crisis, Donald Trump is making it worse.
The Trump administration removed a public health advisory that called out gun violence in the United States for what it is: a crisis.
Why? Because he’s more concerned with protecting the gun lobby’s profits than protecting our families.
Jason has carried weapons of war as an Army Ranger. He’s seen firsthand the devastating power of these firearms, and he knows they have no place in our communities. That’s why he’s spent his time in Congress fighting for commonsense gun safety reforms, including:
- |
Universal background checks |
- |
A ban on military-grade weapons |
- |
Keeping guns out of the hands of domestic abusers |
We’ve made progress. When Jason was first elected, he helped pass the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, the most significant gun safety legislation in nearly 30 years.
But Trump and his allies are doing everything they can to undo that progress: Trump’s latest move is a backslide on the work we’ve done to address the gun violence epidemic — and even Trump’s health secretary RFK Jr. has stated that he does not see gun violence as a public health crisis.
If you agree with Jason that we cannot afford to move backward in this fight to protect our families and our communities, sign his petition denouncing the Trump administration’s efforts to roll back our progress:
Thank you,
