Friends,
We are on day 5 of our community crowdfunder raising $100,000 for all of TLC's work—join us if you haven't already!
Since January we have seen a 250% uptick in requests received by our Legal Information Helpdesk and Prison Mail Program. Support us so we can provide up-to-date legal information amidst rapidly shifting realities.
“In addition to the steady stream of questions about employment discrimination, supporting incarcerated loved ones, and public accommodations, we are receiving a tremendous number of inquiries about recent executive orders and federal policies." – Molly, TLC Legal Information Helpdesk Coordinator
Our Legal Information Helpdesk is responding to community members who: |
- have received federal documents with incorrect gender markers
-
are trans asylum seekers whose applications have been frozen as a result of the suspension of USRAP (United States Refugee Admissions Program)
-
are loved ones of trans people incarcerated in federal prisons, facing discrimination and being denied care (TLC is currently suing over this)
-
are trans people relying on federal programs and increasingly being denied gender-affirming healthcare
