Amanda Chase, a former Virginia State Senator, MAGA darling, and self-proclaimed “Trump in heels,” officially submitted her paperwork to get on the Republican ballot for Governor. How extreme is Amanda Chase? We don’t know where to begin, but:  

• Remember Donald Trump’s January 6, 2021 rally right before the violent insurrection on the U.S. Capitol? Yeah…she was there!
  • The Virginia State Senate later censured her for calling those who violently stormed the Capitol “patriots.”
• She literally carried a pistol onto the Virginia State Senate floor.
• When it comes to women’s reproductive rights, she supports a total abortion ban with no exceptions.
• And so much more.

If she were to win the Republican nomination and eventually the governorship, Virginia would face a dangerous shift to the far-right. But the primary is still months away, and now that Abigail is the Democratic nominee, we need to be prepared for whoever she faces this November — because we’ve got to make sure Virginia’s “Trump in heels” stays as far away from the Governor’s Mansion as possible.
