This time, I’m suing to stop President Trump’s illegal Elections Executive Order that would impose sweeping and unnecessary voting restrictions nationwide that could disenfranchise millions of voters.

Trump is trying to require voters to provide proof of citizenship documentation to register to vote in federal elections, ban states from counting absentee or mail-in ballots that arrive after Election Day, and more. On top of that, he’s threatening to withhold funding from states that don’t comply.

Voting is the lifeblood of democracy, yet Trump is abusing his power to make it harder for eligible Americans, including troops overseas, to cast their ballots in our free and fair elections, all under the guise of ‘election security’ and debunked conspiracy theories.

Once again, this executive order is a massive power grab by Trump: the President doesn’t have the power to rewrite states’ election laws or modify the rules Congress has created for elections.
