In case you missed it, Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) cancelled voting for the rest of the week for the U.S. House — which included a vote on the SAVE Act.
This means there’s still time to send a letter to your representative and let them know that you’d like them to put a stop to the SAVE Act!
John,
Election workers have been on the receiving end of threats and harassment over the last few years despite them doing their jobs and running safe and secure elections. And now the House of Representatives is considering a bill that would set election officials up to fail and make their jobs even harder.
The bill, known as the SAVE Act (H.R. 22), would derail election officials with unfunded mandates, open them to legal risk, and make it harder for eligible Americans to vote.
The SAVE Act is picking up steam and is now moving to the House floor for a vote TODAY. We can’t let this bill move forward.
Tell your representative to stop the SAVE Act!
If passed, the SAVE Act would place new requirements on election offices across the country, and cost local taxpayers millions of dollars. That’s because, despite placing strict new requirements on these offices, Congress isn’t allocating any funding for them to implement the changes.
This bill would do more harm than good. There are paths forward to enhance our nation’s election security, but the SAVE Act isn’t it. Write to your representative now and tell them to put a stop to the SAVE Act.
We can’t do this without you,
The Issue One Team
