Alexandria has encountered many billionaires in her career, both in hearings and other forms of questioning.
And Alexandria has made it clear: Elon Musk is one of the most unintelligent, morally vacant billionaires she has ever met.
Which is why we weren’t surprised to see this headline yesterday:
Earlier this week, Musk dumped $20 million into the Wisconsin Supreme Court election — making it the most expensive judicial election in history1 — only for his MAGA candidate to be soundly defeated by Democrat Susan Crawford.
Within hours, Tesla reported the largest drop in sales in its history — down 13% since Trump took office — equivalent to Musk losing a quarter of his net worth.2
Then, the Trump administration confirmed that they will not extend Musk’s contract as a ‘special government employee’ to go after the elderly, the disabled, and orphaned children to pocket tax cuts for himself.
We’re glad that Musk will take a break from cutting Social Security benefits and kids cancer research, but our work to prevent Trump and his billionaire donors from turning our country into their personal slush fund is far from over.
