We cannot become numb to the crisis happening right now at our border. Every day we hear new information and heartbreaking stories about the vile and dirty conditions in Trump’s migrant detention centers.
Tens of thousands of children are locked in cages. Families are separated. People are dying. There is no soap or toothpaste or blankets or food or places to sleep. People are forced to drink water from toilets while officers laugh at their pain. Babies are sleeping on concrete. Children and adults alike experience verbal and physical abuse from Customs and Border Patrol.
Many immigrants in these detention centers are even too afraid to share their stories with the public for fear of brutal retaliation.
And why wouldn’t they be afraid?
CBP agents have been posting disgusting and ugly things online, mocking and demeaning immigrants and even joking about their deaths.
No one deserves to be treated as less than human. Full stop. Those responsible for these vile posts and horrific actions must be fired immediately, and these detention centers need to be shut down.
I’m calling on the Trump administration to shut down these inhumane facilities and fire those agents responsible for such gross inhumane behavior. Add your name to my petition now.
These are humanitarian crimes sanctioned by Trump and his administration. We cannot be silent in the face of such grave injustice.
