General Newsletter from the Office of Senator Andy Kim

Happy Thursday, New Jersey!

This week, Senator Kim was at the Capitol standing up to the Trump Administration’s attempts to continue dismantling our government and making it harder for working families to get access to the support and services many rely on. Included in that, was helping and encouraging Senator Cory Booker as he held the Senate Floor for a record breaking 25 hours to talk about how Trump’s policies are hurting Americans and driving people apart.

Senator Booker broke Senator Strom Thurman’s record of holding the floor. In 1957, Sen. Thurman held the Senate Floor for 24 hours and 18 minutes in opposition to the Civil Rights Act of 1957.

Senator Kim and our entire office are so proud of our senior Senator for his determination and fight against the corrupt Trump Administration who have spent their first 75 days attacking working families, public servants, and the nearly 2 million families who rely on Medicaid for life saving care.

You can see more highlights below from this week’s work in New Jersey and DC:

Working for New Jersey:

Share Your Medicaid Story with Us a Great Capitol Coffee Day, and Supporting Senator Booker Making History

SHARE YOUR MEDICAID STORY WITH US:

This week and likely into the weekend, Republicans are working to cut Medicaid funding, which could impact nearly 2 million people in New Jersey. Senator Kim would like to hear from you about what Medicaid means to you and how the program has helped you, your family, and loved ones.

If you’re willing to share your story, please do here

A GREAT CAPITOL COFFEE DAY:

Another week, another Capitol Coffee! Always great to bring some NJ energy to the Capitol, over some Wawa coffee of course. Take a look at some of the highlights here

SUPPORTING SENATOR BOOKER MAKING HISTORY:

This week, Senator Booker held the Senate Floor for over 25 hours advocating for millions of Americans who have been attacked by Trump and his administration.

Senator Kim joined him early in the morning on Tuesday to uplift the anger and needs of people and families across our country for real change.

This moment is not normal. We can't treat it like it is, and we are so grateful to Senator Booker for standing up, speaking out, and showing us that we can build a better future for our country together.

Working for you in Washington:

Pushing Back Against Trump’s Tariffs, Demanding Security Training for Trump Administration Officials After National Security Signal Chat Leak, and Talking About Elon Musk’s Corruption

PUSHING BACK AGAINST TRUMP’S TARIFFS:

On Thursday, Donald Trump announced sweeping tariffs against our allies, trading partners, and several uninhabited islands. Here is Senator Kim’s statement against Trump’s tariff tax on American working families:

DEMANDING SECURITY TRAINING FOR TRUMP ADMINISTRATION OFFICIALS AFTER NATIONAL SECURITY SIGNAL CHAT LEAK:

Senator Kim worked in the Situation Room. Unlike Secretary Hegseth, the Senator understands a breach like "Signalgate" can cost lives and cannot happen again.

Today he introduced a bill to establish updated security measures and ensure it won't. You can read more about the bill here

TALKING ABOUT ELON MUSK’S CORRUPTION:

Broken politics and corruption work for people like Trump and Musk. They don't work for the American people, and they don't work for our democracy. You can watch a snippet of Senator Kim’s conversation here, and you can watch the full conversation here

WE ARE HERE FOR YOU:

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve you in the United States Senate. It is an honor and a responsibility we do not take lightly. We know these are difficult times, and we will continue to fight for everyone across the state of New Jersey and stand ready to serve you however we can.

Sincerely,

The Office of Senator Andy Kim
