Did you get a chance to see me take Thames Water to task in Westminster Hall? Yesterday I held a Westminster Hall debate to force the Government to sit up and listen to our concerns about Thames Water. You can watch my speech here. The company has unleashed filth in our waterways and homes, whilst cutting deeper and deeper into personal finances.
And despite the fact they’ve just hiked bills by 35%, years of underinvestment in favour of profit has run the business into the ground. |
It now finds itself on the brink of collapse.
It makes an absolute mockery of the water utility industry that fat cat shareholders are enjoying obscene payouts whilst we are paying the price.
And company executives rake in sky-high salaries and bonuses all whilst our rivers and our wallets suffer.
It’s just not good enough - and I was proud to represent our party alongside my London MP colleagues, Munira Wilson (Twickenham) and Sarah Olney (Richmond Park). |
The Liberal Democrats are the party pushing the Government to take action and finally put Thames Water into special administration.
