This is a time of reckoning in our country.

We are facing a global pandemic that has swept through our communities, disproportionately affecting people of color.

We are witnessing astounding numbers of lost jobs and shuttered businesses, threatening the economic stability of millions of Americans.

And we are experiencing the struggle for racial justice, as the abhorrent killings of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and too many other black Americans have shed light yet again on the systemic oppression and racism that plagues every aspect of our society.

Now is a time for action—in our homes, in our communities, and in Congress. One way we can all take action today is to donate to an organization fighting for justice.

The NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund uses litigation, advocacy, and public education to seek structural change in our country. Their goals include expanding our democracy and achieving racial justice—both of which are sorely needed in our country today.

We know this is a tough financial time for many Americans, but if you’re in a position to chip in, this is an organization deserving of our help.

Let’s not stop there. We can all do more to educate ourselves, have uncomfortable and challenging conversations with our friends and families, sign petitions for change, and register our neighbors to vote.

This is a fight for racial justice, criminal justice reform, education equality, and voting rights. It’s a fight for the future of our country—a future that is up to the work all of us commit to do, each and every day.
