Dear Friend,

As Washington cuts funding for climate programs nationwide, it is critical that NYC mayoral candidates and our communities prioritize the climate crisis.

Below are a few events from our allies where you can hear from candidates about their plans for climate and environmental justice:

  • WE ACT for Environmental Justice’s Mayoral Candidates Forum on Saturday, April 5 at 10 AM - candidates will discuss how they will tackle environmental racism in our communities.

  • UHAB's NYC Mayoral Forum on Cooperative Homeownership on Tuesday, April 15 at 6 PM - candidates will discuss the biggest housing concerns, including compliance with NYC’s Dirty Buildings law, Local Law 97.

  • Waterfront Alliances’ Five Borough Waterfront Forum on Wednesday, May 14 at 7 PM - candidates will discuss climate resilience and adaptation, waterfront access and recreation, maritime and port infrastructure, ferries and more.

Together, we can build power toward the climate solutions our City deserves.

In solidarity,

Faiza Azam
