*Governor Whitmer Launches Webpage Outlining Resources for Northern Michigan Communities Impacted by Ice Storm* 

"Dashboard Shows Available Shelters, Gas Stations and Oxygen Availability" 

 

*LANSING, Mich.* -- Today, Governor Gretchen Whitmer is announcing the Michigan.gov/IceStorm webpage [ [link removed] ], an online resource for Michigan residents impacted by severe winter weather in northern Michigan. 

 

“We know this week has been tough,” said *Governor Whitmer*. “Thousands of Michiganders are still without power or fuel. We want to quickly point them in the right direction to get them the help they need, and that’s what this website aims to do. We’ll continue our all-hands-on-deck approach to help folks impacted by the historic storms. Michiganders are strong, and we'll get through this together."   

 

The facilities dashboard [ [link removed] ] housed on Michigan.gov/IceStorm [ [link removed] ] visually illustrates the number of shelters and fuel stations available with contact information included. Location information for mobile oxygen stations is also listed as well as data pertaining to current power outages. 

 

“It’s critically important to get information to impacted residents as efficiently as possible, and we hope this new webpage will make it easier to stay up to date on community resources and response efforts,” said *Col. James F. Grady II*, director of the Michigan State Police and state director of emergency management and homeland security. “Our State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) remains activated and as additional information and resources become available this site will be updated.” 

 

On Monday, Governor Whitmer declared a state of emergency [ [link removed] ] in ten counties after activating the State Emergency Operations Center to respond to the damaging ice storms in northern Michigan. The state of emergency declaration included the counties of Otsego, Oscoda, Montmorency, Presque Isle, Emmet, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Crawford, Mackinac, and Alpena. 

 

On Tuesday, the governor signed two executive orders [ [link removed] ] to add Alcona and Antrim counties to the state of emergency declaration and lifted trucking restrictions to help expedite getting fuel and other critical supplies to impacted areas. Governor Whitmer also deployed the Michigan National Guard to provide more personnel and specialized equipment to help with ice storm recovery efforts in northern Michigan 

 

On Thursday, Governor Whitmer signed an executive order [ [link removed] ] declaring an energy emergency in the Upper Peninsula. These actions help expedite delivery of fuel and other critical supplies to impacted areas following widespread damage from historic ice storms over the weekend
