Dear John --
I want to say thank you for your continued support during our
leadership transition. I have yet to meet many of our long-time
supporters and wanted to introduce myself more personally. Your
continued support will be instrumental in our next chapter.
As you will see from the?press?release?we have issued (to read
I have worked in the nonprofit field for the past decade. In this time
I have provided direct service to hundreds of people
who? needed?an intervention long before I met them.
The curriculum we teach at WTP actually works to prevent a multitude
of issues - mental health, substance use, boundaries, respect, sexual
consent, suicide prevention, and human trafficking.
I believe that if we only serve those who have been exploited, we
will forever be chasing our tails. We will never get ahead of the
problem, and this will continue to be an epidemic in our society.
Through my personal exploitation experience I have identified many
instances where an intervention could and should have been made by
schools, friends, adults, medical providers, and law
enforcement.
A byproduct of trafficking prevention is actually the reduction
of many other vulnerablilities in our communities. Our mission remains
the same, and we must recommit ourselves; there is far more work to be
done.
Together we will get our community to
listen. ?
Together we can prevent this violence.
?
Together we can address
vulnerability.
Together we can end human
trafficking.
I am excited to join the mission that all of you have supported
and contributed to. In the coming months be on the lookout for our
annual event, and other community events. Thank you for your continued
support on our mission to equip communities and empower the vulnerable
to prevent human trafficking in Washington State. It's people like you
supporting work like?this?that results in lasting change.
Warmest Regards,
Kyra Doubek
