Dear Friend,
Yesterday, we received a powerful letter from a student — a reminder of what’s at stake, and why we are organizing Refuse Fascism contingents in tomorrow's HANDS OFF protests to demand: The Trump fascist regime MUST GO!
Tomorrow, Refuse Fascism will be the crowds of protesters, organizing them to wage massive resistance throughout all of society, demanding the regime must go, and not stopping until Trump cannot carry forward his fascist program or even maintain the reins of power.
This effort takes funds for travel, rentals, printing...it adds up quickly. That's where you come in. Everything Refuse Fascism does is funded by your donations, and you are needed now.

I
came to this country with a certain hope that, thanks to the education I
receive here, I will be able to work to better the living conditions of
those who are in much more vulnerable positions than I am. I arrived as
an international student two days before the inauguration of Donald Trump,
and my hopes have been consistently shattered day after day since then.
You may not share the same goal as me, but you might share my feelings
of frustration and powerlessness due to the actions of the current
administration.
I am writing to you as a citizen
from a country that has endured a fascist regime for over a decade. I am
writing to you as someone who is aware of the way such a system spreads
and increasingly limits rights. You may think this does not concern
you, but I am telling you from a place of deep concern that what may now
be invisible to you will eventually reach you. I ask that you do not
wait for the political to come barging in on your door but rather to
stand up now — while you still can — for those whose lives are made
increasingly unlivable.
It was only upon stumbling
upon members of the Refuse Fascism organization at Washington Square
Park that I began to feel hope again. It reminded me that we are not
alone, that there are, in fact, people organizing to take action, choosing not to remain silent. This letter is nothing but a reminder that you are not alone in the way you’re feeling, and you don’t have to stay alone in it.
Our power is in our numbers.
If you can speak out, please use your voice to stand up for those whose
right to speech is repressed. If you are able to, unite with those
willing to fight the fight and go out to protest, join them, and stand
up for those of us who are threatened to be expelled for such expression
of discontent.
