As Congress moves forward with budget reconciliation, energy tax provisions are squarely in the crosshairs. Last month, twenty-one House Republican Conference members, led by Rep. Andrew Garbarino (R-NY), submitted a letter ([link removed]) to House Ways & Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith stressing the importance of prioritizing affordable energy for American families.

Meanwhile, it is clear that U.S. electricity demand will grow exponentially during the next decade. In February, ConservAmerica released a comprehensive report ([link removed]) analyzing that growth, the available resources to meet it, and the implications of Congress repealing existing tax credits. In the report, economic consulting firm The Brattle Group found that electricity generation system costs would rise by 14%, increasing the average household’s electricity bill by $83 per year.

At the same time, hydrogen, which Bill Gates has referred to as the “Swiss Army Knife of decarbonization,” has been experiencing a resurgence. Numerous hydrogen infrastructure projects, along with ongoing efforts to develop technologies and encourage more demand, are contributing to this.

Join us on Thursday, April 10, at 1pm ET, for a webinar where we will discuss all these issues. Our expert panelists will provide an insider view on what’s happening in Congress, describe the growth in energy demand, and provide an update on hydrogen developments.

Panelists:

Niko Keddy, Legislative Assistant, Office of Rep. Andrew Garbarino (R-NY)

Sam Newell, Principal, The Brattle Group

Rachel Fox, Director of Policy and Strategy, American Petroleum Institute
