For example, Purdue University's grade was revised from a B to an A after they made a number of changes. They established a standing committee on Jewish life; antisemitism was integrated into its nondiscrimination policies; antisemitism education has been expanded; opposition to BDS has been re-affirmed; and masked harassment has been prohibited.
The following schools improved their grades after implementing new policies: Purdue, University of Georgia, Tulane University, American University, San Diego State University, University of South Florida, University of Pittsburgh, Northwestern University, California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, University of California, Santa Barbara and University of Minnesota.
The following schools have had their grades improved after providing new information on their efforts: Arizona State University, Johns Hopkins University, Indiana University, University of Southern California, Stanford University, University of Houston, Boston University and Lehigh University.
As ADL’s VP of Advocacy Shira Goodman noted, “Addressing antisemitism on campuses across the United States is one of our top priorities and the willingness of many schools to engage with us and take action after the release of our Report Card shows this is a priority for them as well.”
ADL plans to continue expanding the project to include more schools and additional information, serving as a roadmap for enhancing campus climate amidst rising antisemitism concerns. |
