 Fellow American, Soon, I will face the voters of my Palmetto State as I seek re–election. As one of President Trump's closest confidantes, I'm certain to be one of the Democrats' biggest targets once again. As Chairman of the Senate Budget Committee, I am working with the President and his team to pass sweeping legislation that will secure our border and rebuild our economy. I can't wait for you to see our successes! But to be candid with you, Fellow American, I don't have a lot of time right now to focus on my campaign. My time is spent working to dramatically reduce government waste and inefficiencies and extend the Trump tax cuts for hard–working families and job–creating businesses, which will help get our economy back on track. Don't forget — a stronger economy means a more secure nation, whether it's at our southern border or in the world arena. My dilemma here is simple: the more time I spend helping President Trump, the less time I have to raise for what is shaping up to be an incredibly expensive re-election contest.
