Sea Shepherd Confronts Industrial Trawlers in Antarctica—Alone.
Dear John,
Antarctica should be a sanctuary. But this season, as hundreds of whales gathered to feed—something few people ever witness—krill supertrawlers moved in right behind them.
Dragging nets large enough to swallow a jumbo jet, these factory ships from China, Norway, and Ukraine are stripping the Southern Ocean of krill—the foundation of life in Antarctica. They target the very waters where whales, seals, and penguins feed.
📍And for the third year in a row, powered entirely by our donors, Sea Shepherd is the only organization with a ship in these waters. No governments. No other NGOs. Just us—out there in the ice, holding the line.
