John,

The U.S. has been a global leader in refugee resettlement for decades. We've welcomed individuals and their families fleeing persecution and war, providing them a safe haven and helping them build a new life in the U.S.

However, the future for many seeking refuge in the U.S. is uncertain right now. Earlier this year, President Trump signed an Executive Order (EO) that suspended refugee resettlement. The practical implication of the EO is that refugee arrivals have been indefinitely suspended. Contracts with refugee resettlement agencies were cancelled without notice; applications under review were put on hold; flights for those ready to be resettled were abruptly stopped; and funding for individuals already lawfully resettled was halted. (You can read more in depth about this **order here** [link removed].)

**Support our faith leaders to
continue to urge Congress and the administration to reinstate the refugee resettlement program.** [link removed]

Our team is working with faith partners at the grassroots and grasstops levels through groups like the **Evangelical Immigration Table** [link removed] and **We Choose Welcome** [link removed] to educate the public on the importance of the refugee program and to urge Congress and the administration to reinstate refugee resettlement. We are reaching out to leaders across the political spectrum asking them to restore our commitment to welcoming refugees.

This effort builds on the work **Women of Welcome** [link removed], **We Choose Welcome** [link removed], and the **Evangelical Immigration Table**
[link removed] have been doing for years - advocating for the most vulnerable and being a voice for cultural change through being a part of the **Welcome Corps program** [link removed], offering **educational resources** [link removed] about who refugees are and how the refugee program operates, and **raising their voices** [link removed] in support of refugee resettlement.

**But we can't continue to do this critical work without supporters like you, John. Be part of our work to advocate for refugees and commonsense immigration solutions. Will you join our efforts and make a generous gift to support this work?**

While our immigration system is in desperate need of repair, these
actions against the most vulnerable are not the solution. These actions are not only putting the lives of those most at risk in jeopardy, but they weaken our standing in the world, undermine America's moral obligation, and harm cities and towns that depend on the contributions of refugees.

We need Congress to reinstate the refugee resettlement program - and together, we can make this possible. We are proud to work with incredible faith leaders at the grasstops and grassroots levels to protect and support refugees.

**Supporters like you make a huge difference - thank you for staying committed to our work.**

With gratitude,

Jennie Murray
