Good afternoon,

This week, I returned home to Arizona and got to work helping constituents. My district office in Surprise also reopened on Monday by appointment only. During these troubling times, I remain committed to helping Arizonans get the help and support they need.

In the News This Week

I joined One America News this week to discuss pushing back on social media companies censoring content and the ongoing protests across the country. Watch my interview below:

My Statement on the Ongoing Protests

I am deeply disturbed by the events leading to the death of George Floyd, and I pray for justice for him and his family. I support the right of Americans to protest peacefully, but nothing will be solved with destruction and violence in our communities. We need to stop the violence, come together to address the divide in our nation, and rebuild America.

Legislative Update

I recently co-sponsored Representative Chip Roy’s bill, the VA Prescription Flexibility Act. This bill will allow veterans to use private sector health care to fill their prescriptions during public health emergencies and will give them more choices for these health care needs so that they can continue to get the care they need during these difficult times.

Encouraging Story

I love this heartwarming story about the Arizona Cancer Foundation finding new ways to help cheer up sick children during the pandemic. The foundation has set up video chats between the children and therapy dogs as well as providing families with “Sunshine Packs” filled toys and essentials.

Casework Highlight

A constituent contacted our office to help her obtain proof of her grandfather’s service in World War II. She needed these records in order to help her son apply for the American Legion Boys State scholarship for college. We were able to expedite the records request and obtain the records before the scholarship deadline.

Coronavirus Casework Highlight

A constituent contacted our office as they were trying to apply for Unemployment Insurance. They were frustrated that they continued to run into roadblocks and were initially denied benefits. Our office worked with the constituent and helped to get their information resubmitted. Though it took a few weeks, they finally received all of their benefits.
