Hi Friend,
Monday is World Health Day, with this year’s theme being Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures, with a special focus on maternal and newborn health.
Thanks to people like you, we’re dedicated to giving hope to families whose babies are born premature and are at risk of developing one of the leading causes of childhood blindness, retinopathy of prematurity (ROP).
15 million babies are born prematurely every year, with 32,000 becoming permanently blind or visually impaired for life through avoidable causes.
But there is good news. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we train neo-natal teams around the world to provide specialized sight-saving care to premature babies, helping them grow up with healthy sight.
Babies such as triplets Ester, Sara, and Ruth, from Peru, who were born at 32 weeks. Thanks to your support they were all examined for ROP at an Orbis partner hospital, with baby Ruth getting the laser treatment she needed for a future of healthy sight.

Thanks for helping babies get the eye care they deserve, so they can have the best start in life.
