** Senator O’Reilly raises issue of abortions in Cavan Hospital in the Seanad

On Tuesday, Senator Sarah O’Reilly of Aontú expressed her sadness and regret in the Seanad that Cavan General Hospital has begun carrying out abortions. It’s the last of Ireland’s 19 maternity hospitals to start doing so. Since 2019, the Department of Health has piled on the pressure, forcing each of the hospitals in turn to start carrying these horrifying life ending procedures - procedures that we know have nothing whatsoever to do with genuine healthcare.
Meanwhile, the Catholic bishops of Kilmore and Clogher (whose dioceses are in Cavan General Hospital catchment area) issued a statement on foot of the news that abortions have commenced in the local hospital, saying: “We are saddened by the availability of abortion services in our hospitals. Our hospitals were founded to care for the sick, save and improve our lives as well as to provide palliative care for those whose life is reaching its natural end.”
“We urge that the staff of our hospitals are assured of their freedom of conscience not to participate in the procurement of abortions. We stand with those staff, who refuse to be involved in abortion procedures and in this way promote and protect human life. We ask that the integrity of their stance not impact upon the progression of their career paths within the health services.”

Campaign to Defund Planned Parenthood Growing
The campaign to defund Planned Parenthood in the US is gathering pace by the day. Watch this short video showing how the momentum is growing.
Every year, Planned Parenthood receives close to $700m from US taxpayers and uses it to end the lives of over 400,000 unborn babies.
Planned Parenthood has also been exposed for selling the body parts of aborted babies, something that has particularly disgusted Americans and shone a light on the organisation’s other horrific practices.

Police keeping vigil outside the home of Justice Brett Kavanaugh
** Man charged with attempted assassination of pro-life Justice Brett Kavanaugh to plead guilty

The man charged with plotting to assassinate pro-life US Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh is due to plead guilty, his defence team said earlier this week.
Nicholas John Roske travelled from California to Maryland in 2022 with the intent to kill Justice Kavanaugh. When arrested near the justice’s home, the then 26-year old was carrying a Glock 17 pistol, several rounds of ammunition, a knife, zip ties, pepper spray and duct tape.

** UN Committee takes issue with aspects of Canada’s pro-euthanasia law

The United Nations Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities has issued its Concluding Observations on Canada’s disability rights practices, highlighting concerns over specific provisions of the country’s Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) law.
The report states, “The Committee is extremely concerned about the 2021 amendments to the State Party’s Criminal code through Bill C-7 that expanded the eligibility criteria for obtaining Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD), known as ‘Track 2’ MAiD by removing the ‘foreseeable death’ criteria.”
