Hi team --

First, I want to say I am so grateful for your support of this campaign. I truly appreciate your help hitting our goal this past weekend. We are going to put your dollars to good use in our fight for expanding affordable health care, lowering prescription drug prices, protecting Medicare and Social Security, and everything else we're working towards in Congress.

But today, instead of letting you know what's ahead for my campaign this month as I usually do, I want to use this space to say a few words on the horrific murder of George Floyd and the incredible pain we've seen in this country over the past two weeks.

Black communities across this country are hurting, and we are grieving with them. What happened to George Floyd -- what happened to Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and too many other Black men and women -- was a violent injustice that we cannot ignore.

I stand with our Black community in their grief, and with all those peacefully protesting to demand justice for George Floyd. The arrest of the officers at fault is a start, but we must do more to make this a country where no one can be treated with less dignity and humanity because of the color of their skin.

In these tough times, I have found hope as I always do in the spirit of Utahns -- in those coming together to support our communities and heal the deep wounds of racism, violence, and injustice that have been reopened this week.

Together, let's use our voices to stand for justice, peace, and progress.

As always, wishing you all my best. Stay safe and healthy.

-Ben
