Last night at a Young Jewish Conservatives event, with Sidney Rosenberg as the Main Event, Sid gave a roaring endorsement for Maud Maron running for Manhattan District Attorney to challenge the master of lawlessness and lawfare himself - Alvin Bragg. He said “there’s no one more dangerous”… then Bragg

I had the opportunity to speak with and interview Maud. Like Sid Rosenberg, she was also a lifelong Democrat who found her way to common sense conservativism and is now a Republican for life.
I asked Maud, a former defense attorney of over 20 years why she is stepping up to fight the uphill battle to challenge the democrat machine as a lifelong democrat?
Her main point was public safety: “wanting to be safer on the streets and the subways is normal, healthy, and definitely not racist.”
She is right on that one. You can’t spin crime when we want “our children safe on the subways or commuters or tourists or anyone safe walking down the street…it's really not a color thing as people of every color want safety.”
Maud noted that in 2021 when Bragg got elected, the conversation about safety spun into a race and color war. While black men of a certain age group are disproportionately likely to commit certain crimes. Maud notes that “it's also true that black people of every age are disproportionally likely to be victims of crimes.” It is time to protect the victims.
“So if you're trying to be this great leftist anti-racist person, and you support defund the police and social work over police work (Like Bragg), you are actually creating more black victims of crime.”
Maud is not afraid to reject these narratives and return New York to a civil society of law and order by looking at the actual crime data. “Alvin Bragg’s policies made all of us less safe and we need to reverse those policies and go back to the proven law enforcement policies that we know make us safer.” She is a fighter and her website even has the boxing card with a section called “Maud vs. Bragg [ [link removed] ]” Here is the undercard:
Maud was a defense lawyer for 20 years. She credits that experience from the importance of protecting people's constitutional rights. She views being a prosecutor as an incredibly important job, and “Alvin Bragg has been acting like a social worker and not a prosecutor. .. In an adversarial system, which is what our criminal justice system is, you need to have both sides” which is not happening under Bragg.
Maud views prosecutorial discretion from two important viewpoints: to look at the victims of crimes and to prevent future victims contrasted with compelling cases about why a defendant needs a second chance or needs an alternative to incarceration.
Alternatives to incarceration cannot “be your default position because then you are abandoning your actual job to do justice” which is to deter future behavior by “locking up the bad guy.”
Maud sees her role if elected as triage given the limited resources and “public safety is a great place to start” if she is elected. She recalled the Bloomberg era not so long ago and “in 2017, we had zero homicides on the subway.” Maud knows that “NYC is capable of that safety record once again with good policing and Why wouldn't we do that kind of good policing again?”
We know it works and Maud Maron is the district attorney this city needs.
She is a grassroots fighter collecting petition signatures last night to get on the ballot and turned in those signatures today. She does not rely on others to get the job done; she rolls up her sleeves and will certainly be a fighter for NYC.
