Meet Cassidy, a CMCA member, who first connected with us through our Getting Ahead class and has continued to work with us to build a better future for herself and her growing family. Despite the challenges of pregnancy and new motherhood, she graduated from the class and felt inspired to help others. She worked with CMCA to facilitate the next class and took additional steps toward building a stable future. 

She enrolled in our Financial Opportunity Center® (FOC) program, where she has gained a better understanding of her credit and taken steps to strengthen it. She has also built a budget and secured steady employment with opportunities for growth. Today, she is balancing work, childcare, and her long-term goals. She is maintaining employment, managing her finances, and taking steps toward lasting self-sufficiency. Her resilience is a testament to the power of support and determination.

On Tuesday, March 25, our Missouri Women’s Business Center organized a statewide advocacy day at the State Capitol. More than 40 women from various industries across the state met with their local Representatives to discuss the importance of supporting small business, childcare initiatives, and women in business. The group also heard from the governor, president of the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and other elected officials. 

As we continue to navigate the federal funding environment, we invite you to advocate for support of all of our programs to your local representatives.
