In the midst of intense public backlash, my Republican colleagues are refusing to hold town halls. Rather than face angry constituents, they’ve taken up a code of silence.

People are eager to engage with their elected officials—and they deserve straight answers on Social Security, healthcare, food assistance, rising costs, and the state of our democracy.

So I’m filling the gap. On April 12th, I’m kicking off the Tough Conversations Tour right here in Illinois!

I’ll be heading into ruby-red districts to speak with voters whose own representatives can’t be bothered to show up. Will you invest $10 in this bold outreach plan to show these voters a better way forward?

I’m under no illusions about it: I’ll get some hard questions. There’ll be some tense moments. But I’m proud to take the first step towards healing some of these divides. Towards rebuilding all those bridges Trump has burned.
