RPNM STATEMENT ON REP. DEB HAALAND SUPPORT FOR ANTIFA

"Rep. Deb Haaland's comments calling Antifa "peaceful protestors" are reprehensible, and our Federal delegation should disavow Haaland's irresponsible and incorrect statement that goes against our American values.”

“Haaland's comments came the very same day that Antifa members carried out violent demonstrations in Portland, OR. As Townhall.com ([link removed]) reported: "Dressed in black, some wearing masks, Antifa struck at the windows of buses carrying people on the right, sprayed pepper spray at them and tried to drag them out of the bus using a hammer. They broke a window on one of the buses...Police seized metal poles, bear spray and other weapons from Antifa.”

“Violent extremism must be called out truthfully no matter the source. I call on Sens. Heinrich and Udall, along with Reps. Lujan and Torres Small to join me in condemning Rep. Haaland's inexcusable and baffling support for this violent group."
