SIGN ON: Demand the Demilitarization of Police NOW! → [[link removed]]
Well, I'll put this plainly: The unjust murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and too many other Black folks at the hands of police are horrific and unacceptable.
America is in the midst of a much needed national reckoning. And unfortunately, over the past few days we have all seen the undeniable acts of police brutality against peaceful protesters demanding change and stating loud and clear that Black Lives Matter.
Police have access to a variety of high-tech weapons and military gear including tear gas, surplus guns, and even armoured vehicles -- all while nurses and doctors still face a shortage of simple PPE equipment, and teachers have to pay for school supplies our of pocket. This type of military equipment does not belong on American soil and does not protect Americans.
Team, enough is enough! Will you join me in taking action by signing on to this petition demanding the demilitarization of police now? → [[link removed]]

One of the most public examples of police brutality was on display this week, when President Trump turned Lafayette Park into Tiananmen Square and allowed tear gassing and rubber bullets to be shot into hundreds of peaceful protesters right in front of the White House -- all for a photo op. Even from a president who so often crosses the line, this action shocked me -- and we cannot let it become our new normal. That's why I have demanded all documents and communications from the Secret Service regarding this situation.
I'm committed to getting answers about Trump's actions, but that isn't enough. We need a nationwide movement calling for the demilitarization of police. I hope you'll sign on now and join me in fighting back → [[link removed]]
