When I started my floor speech in the Senate on Monday night, I did it because the things that make our country different are under attack, and millions of people are asking us to speak up and acknowledge the crisis we are in.

I certainly did not expect this speech to garner this much attention. 

But John, I am so grateful that you tuned in. 

Thank you for chiming in yes in response to our calls for action.

Thank you for voicing your support and standing with me in the fight for a better future.

Thank you for signing our petitions, pitching in, and sharing our message with your friends and family. 

The outpouring of support and excitement this week is energizing. It has filled me with hope.

And while I might be done speaking on the floor for now, I’m not giving up the fight anytime soon. 

We need to keep at it. We need relentless calls to action. We need to continue to demand change until we receive change.
