take effect in days.

For the first time in history, as of April 14, seniors will no longer be
able to call the Social Security Administration toll-free number and
complete an application for retirement benefits. It comes on the heels of
Trump also planning to shut down 47 Social Security field offices and lay
off up to half the agency’s staff.
