Eric Adams cannot help himself. Given the opportunity, he will always prioritize his ego over us.
One day after Trump’s DOJ let him off the hook, Adams ditched the Democratic primary to run as an independent.
This is a gift to any Republican running for mayor in November. And Adams knows it. He knows he can’t win a fair fight with Democratic voters, so he’s pulling a last-minute stunt to rig the game and protect his own power.
Let’s be clear: if Adams splits the vote, a Republican could waltz into City Hall. That’s the play. And if we don’t fight back, they’ll get away with it.
I’m the Democrat who can take on Adams and the right-wing machine in November — but I can’t do it alone. We need only 500 New Yorkers to step up before Friday to unlock public financing and show the establishment that we will not let this city be sold out.
