Folks,

I'm sure you've seen the footage of protestors in front of the
White House being tear-gassed and shot at with rubber bullets by
federal police. It was a shocking escalation of violence at an
otherwise peaceful event and I was horrified to see these tactics
used to clear a path for the President and his top officials to
take part in a photo op.

It was then revealed that Attorney General Bill Barr personally
gave the order to forcibly clear protesters.

I have long spoken out against AG Barr's dangerous actions that
put the President's personal interests over those of the American
people. Now, I'm calling for the appointment of a special
prosecutor to investigate the Attorney General for ordering the
attack on peaceful protesters.

The job of the Attorney General of the United States is to
uphold the law. The First Amendment guarantees the right to
peaceful assembly. But when Donald Trump wanted to silence
Americans protesting police violence, he called Bill Barr to
crack down on their Constitutional rights.

AG Barr has worked around the clock to cast aside justice and
the rule of law in order to protect Donald Trump. That's why I'm
asking everyone to stand with me in demanding accountability and
an investigation into Barr's order to attack peaceful protestors.

Barr made moves to prosecute Trump's political enemies. He has
shown, multiple times, that he will lie for the President. He has
demonstrated that he is more interested in serving as the
President's personal counsel than as the chief law enforcement
officer of the United States. He lied under oath to Congress. And
now, he's doing Trump's dirty work in silencing peaceful protest.

The pattern of abuse of power is clear, it's un-American, and
it cannot be tolerated.

Thanks for speaking out,

-- David
