RFK Jr.’s War on Science Is Putting American Lives at Risk

Dr. Peter Marks resigned from the FDA. He spent more than a decade protecting the vaccine approval process, ensuring the safety and effectiveness of life-saving medicine. Now, he is gone, and he did not leave quietly. In his resignation letter, he made it clear: truth and transparency are no longer welcome under Trump and RFK Jr. Science does not matter. Only loyalty does.

RFK Jr. has spent years profiting off anti-vaccine rhetoric, disguising his dangerous misinformation as "skepticism." Now, he has put a known vaccine opponent, David Geier, in charge of a sham study at HHS, a deliberate effort to revive the long-debunked lie that vaccines cause autism. This isn’t science. It’s an orchestrated attack on public trust in medicine.

We’re already seeing the deadly consequences. Measles outbreaks are surging nationwide, with Texas and New Mexico reporting a 20% increase in just three days. Texas alone has 400 confirmed cases and two deaths, caused by a disease that was eradicated in the U.S. in 2000.

The cause? Declining vaccination rates, fueled by conspiracy theories and reckless rhetoric from figures like RFK Jr. Public health experts warn that without immediate action, this outbreak will continue to spread, putting thousands, especially children, at risk.

But vaccines aren’t the only target. Trump and his MAGA allies just laid off 10,000 scientists, doctors, and researchers at HHS, gutting the very agencies meant to protect public health. Their next move? Challenging drug safety regulations, including the approval of mifepristone, a critical medication for abortion care. This isn’t about safety. It’s about control.

Public health is under siege, and we cannot afford to sit on the sidelines. We must mobilize, organize, and fight back with everything we’ve got. That means calling out these attacks at every turn, supporting leaders who will defend science, and building a movement powerful enough to stop Trump, RFK Jr., and the entire MAGA machine from dismantling our health institutions.
