“These are not normal times in America, and they should not be treated as such.” As Senator Cory Booker gave his record-breaking speech on the Senate floor for over 24 hours this week, this was perhaps his most crucial point.
At both the federal and state levels, civil rights protections and community funding are being rolled back at astonishing speed. Our neighbors are being summarily deported, and our schools are being defunded. At times, it can feel bleak.
But at Ground Game Texas, we’re committed to fighting harder in order to meet this moral moment. And Americans from all walks of life are doing the same. Whether it’s Senator Booker refusing to normalize our authoritarian administration, or Wisconsin voters rejecting Elon Musk’s blatant attempts to buy their judicial system, or Austinites protesting the Tesla dealership in Musk’s adopted homebase, we are coming together to stop this unprecedented attack on our rights and values.
