Save the Date - Conference: (Re)Valuing Partnership in Youth Work
Hosted by the Centre for Youth Research and Development in Maynooth University, in partnership with NYCI and the ETBI, this special one-day conference marks the 40th anniversary of the landmark white paper In Partnership with Youth: The National Youth Policy, and will take place on Wednesday 18th June.

Marking International Romani day
International Romani day is observed on the 8th of April to celebrate the richness of Roma culture. The day also seeks to bring light to the communities’ long history of exclusion, marginalisation and persecution, and explores present-day challenges for the community caused by widespread racism.

Engaging with TDs and Senators on your behalf

Irish Delegation to Play Key Role at European Youth Work Convention in Malta
An experienced delegation will represent Ireland at the 4th European Youth Work Convention (EYWC) taking place in Valletta, Malta from May 27th to 30th, where over 400 participants from across Europe will gather to shape the future of youth work under the theme ‘Youth Work Xcelerate’.

Bronze and Silver Health Quality Marks Awarded
The NYCI National Youth Health Programme was delighted to award two organisations with the Health Quality Mark recently. Blakestown and Mountview Neighbourhood Youth Project was awarded a Bronze Standard HQM, and Limerick Youth Service was awarded a Silver Standard HQM.

New AI Project for Young People and Youth Workers
Last month, we, in partnership with Insight, Dublin City University, and the Ombudsman for Children’s Office, launched a groundbreaking initiative to equip young people—especially those from marginalised backgrounds— and youth workers with essential knowledge and skills in Artificial Intelligence (AI), data, and emerging technologies.

Inspiring the next generation of Youth Workers
In March, over 500 young people attended a series of events in Dublin entitled ‘Inspiring Future Youth Workers’ as part of the European Youth Work agenda. These outreach events were a pilot project run by six youth organisations in Dublin aimed at reaching potential youth workers and encouraging them to consider youth work as a professional career path.

With roll backs on content moderation and loosening restrictions on hateful content by social media giants, online spaces are becoming more hostile for LGBTQ+ young people, among many, many others. Throughout April, Belong To is running the #ItsOurSocialMedia campaign to make online spaces safer for LGBTQ+ young people and all of us.

VSI: Empowering Solidarity with Comhlámh Justice for Palestine Group
Join VSI for their Spring Meetup, where they are collaborating with Comhlamh’s ‘Justice for Palestine’ Group to explore the topic of Palestinian rights. This meetup will be in-person in Dublin city centre on 5th April from 14:00 – 16:00.
