In-District Updates
Thank you for coming to our town hall!
About two weeks ago, I hosted my first in-person town hall, and the Third District turned out in full force, with almost 2,000 attendees. Much gratitude to Bloomington Mayor Tim Busse for serving as moderator, and to the Scouts who led us in the Pledge of Allegiance. I can’t say it enough – thank you! Thank you for showing up and making your voices heard. We would love your feedback ahead of our next town hall. Please let us know what went well, how we can improve, and what you would like to hear more of by taking this survey. We didn’t get to answer every question – our office is working to process your questions and will be getting back to you shortly.
I know many of us, myself included, are scared, frustrated, and outraged at the Trump Administration’s illegal actions over the past few months. But last month’s town hall and all the town halls, rallies, and protests across the country prove one thing: we are not powerless. Keep coming together. Keep sharing your stories. Keep organizing. As your Representative, I will do everything I can to fight back against President Trump’s dangerous agenda. We are in this together.
A great in-district week
As always, it was great to be back home. I met with some wonderful people and learned about many organizations that serve the Third District.
I was honored to speak at the Minnesota Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s Interfaith Iftar. One of our district’s greatest strengths is its wealth of diversity, cultures, and experiences, including the Ahmadiyya community and their work to promote peace abroad and at home.
I met with the Magnus Veterans Foundation, founded by Dr. Shawn Alderman, which provides mental and physical health and wellness care to veterans and their families. We discussed how to ensure our veterans receive the highest quality care. As a member of the House Veterans' Affairs Committee, I’m committed to making sure our veterans have the support they need and deserve. Great to see Hennepin County Commissioner Kevin Anderson, state Senator John Hoffman, and state Rep. Kaela Berg!
I joined the Minneapolis Regional Labor Federation for a labor roundtable, where I spoke with union leaders and members from across Minnesota. I’m proud to be a member of the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party – and to be a cosponsor of bills like the Richard L. Trumka Protecting the Right to Organize Act.

I also toured the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s world-class facility with Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Andrew Baker. Grateful for their important work!
I met some incredible people this week, and I’m looking forward to the next time I can be back in our amazing district! If you would like to request a meeting or visit with me or our staff, please email [email protected].
