Hi John,
You can see it and smell it when a big truck passes you on the highway or in our neighborhood—diesel truck pollution is a daily reality for Oregonians. Here in Oregon, 19 of 36 counties have diesel pollution high enough to increase your lifetime risk for cancer. But it doesn’t have to be this way. Clean, quiet, zero-emission trucks are hitting the road, protecting our health and our climate.
Unfortunately, fossil fuel interests and some truck manufacturers are trying to derail that progress right as electric trucks are getting into gear. The Oregon Legislature is currently considering a bill (HB 3119) that would rollback Oregon’s clean truck standards, allowing more pollution in our communities. We need your help to stop it. Will you contact your representatives today to stop this unfair rollback [[link removed]]?
It’s up to our representatives to make sure manufacturers don’t get let off the hook for toxic diesel pollution in our communities, to support investments that help Oregon businesses and fleets transition to clean, zero-emission trucks and build charging infrastructure, while rejecting HB 3119, as it would delay critical air quality and climate protections for years in Oregon. Urge your representatives to take action now by sending them an email [[link removed]]!
With dangerous federal attacks on climate and clean air protections underway, Oregon must stand firm in defending policies that clean up our transportation system. Legislators are hearing from industry voices that want to further delay progress— they need to hear from you, too!
Make your voice heard today: Tell legislators to protect Oregon’s clean trucks rule and invest in a healthier, more sustainable transportation system [[link removed]].
Thank you for taking action,
