Kansas Democrats worked to ensure a full mail-in vote for April’s primary to protect our safety and our right to vote.
No-excuse absentee voting has been guaranteed in Kansas for years, and I’m proud that measures have been taken to expand mail-in voting for all Kansans. Too often, voters face barriers to accessing the ballot box – and vote by mail is an essential step to combat voter suppression.
But the Kansas GOP is trying to make voting by mail a political issue and suppress the voices of Kansas voters. Voting is our right, plain and simple.
No one should have to choose between their health and exercising their constitutional right to vote. As we look to elect strong leaders who will fight for our families, it’s clear that vote by mail is the best option to safeguard voting rights.
We will not allow politicians to play political games with our access to the ballot box.
