Friend, I’m Rabih Torbay, President and CEO of Project HOPE. I’ve spent decades working in crisis zones, and I’ve seen firsthand how conflict, disaster, and disease push entire health systems to the brink. But what always stays with me — what gives me HOPE — is the courage of our team members and partners who show up, no matter the odds.
Right now, the people of Myanmar are facing an unimaginable tragedy after a catastrophic 7.7 earthquake. Thousands of people are dead, injured, or missing. Communities have been destroyed. Many families cannot find enough clean water or food.
In the face of such devastation, Project HOPE’s team members and partners are on the ground providing desperately needed aid. Please join in by making a donation toward our $50,000 emergency goal by 4/4 to save lives and deliver HOPE in Myanmar and where it’s needed most — and until Friday at midnight, all gifts will be MATCHED for 2X the impact, up to $15,000.
There has never been a more dangerous time to be an aid worker — and yet, our staff and partners go to work every day to deliver compassionate care to save lives and help communities heal and recover from disaster. At least 280 humanitarians have been killed this year, including members of Project HOPE’s team in both Gaza and Ukraine.
And now as the threat of aftershocks and landslides put our team in Myanmar at greater risk, it’s truly going to take all of us to ensure they have the resources and support they need to continue this critical work.
We’ve set a $50,000 emergency fundraising goal in response to the crisis in Myanmar to make sure that our staff have the resources they need to save lives, while continuing our mission around the world to deliver urgent relief with lasting impact. Please, don’t wait: give now to support our health care heroes putting their lives on the line to bring HOPE to communities in crisis — and until Friday, your gift will go twice as far!
