Will you sign on as a citizen co-sponsor, too, John xxxxxx?
John xxxxxx,
In the coming days, the House Judiciary Committee will be holding hearings on police reform, so now is the time for all of us to crank up the pressure to help pass Hakeem's bill, the Eric Garner Excessive Use of Force Prevention Act.
Change comes when we organize for it, when we mobilize for it, and when we demand it. Already, hundreds of you have signed our petition, and many more made phone calls, and amplified our demands on social media. Our rallying cry is clear: Black Lives Matter, and everyone must be held accountable to that fact.
But we still have work to do. That's where you come in, John xxxxxx. We need your voice in this fight too, so that we can show the overwhelming support for this bill. Add your name as a citizen co-sponsor.
We cannot wait any longer to address the systemic oppression of Black Americans through police violence. Each of us needs to recognize the power and responsibility we have to make change.
What we do in this moment in time will define our nation's history, and we must all answer this call to action. Change will come because our voices get louder. Our determination grows stronger. And our commitment to accountability and justice is unwavering.
With you taking part in this people-powered movement, alongside Hakeem and millions of Americans, we will make sure that this time is different. Sign on as a citizen co-sponsor of this bill to finally ban chokeholds and other excessive force tactics.
Thank you,
Team Jeffries
